Back in the day, doubling up on prints and patterns were kind of a no-no, but things have certainly changed since then. I’ve actually been hesitant to wear them myself because it can require some thought into putting an outfit like that together, and let’s be real, when you have to be at work at 8:30 in the morning like I do, getting ready in a certain amount of time is key!
My style has changed so much over the years, that now, I try not to think too much about matching so perfectly. When it comes to fashion, I like to have fun, and by fun, I mean… take risks. Isn’t that what life’s all about anyway????
So as I got dressed the other day, I was determined to tackle the print/pattern combo. I’ve really been into stripes lately, so I thought I’d give it a try. I instantly fell in love and it didn’t take much effort to coordinate, so that gave me enough time to add to the mix. I paired this look with a solid blazer, one of my favorite wool hats, and the most comfortable slip-ons. I literally wear them at least 3 times a week and the blazer was a perfect addition because it took the focus off the stripes and made my get-up look subtle.
I’m OBSESSED with the color of this blazer. I would probably call it ginger or copper but I’m honestly not quite sure the exact color of it, what I do know is that it can definitely add a pop of color to any outfit and it’s a staple within itself. But don’t you worry, I’ll talk about staples and how to mix different prints and patterns at a later time!
PS – I’m interested in hearing about your experiences so please leave your comments below on a time you’ve doubled-up on the same pattern/print. What kind of print was it?!
